About the opportunity

People to act as buddies and mentors to provide support to adults with learning disabilities, enabling them to participate in activities in the community and within the centre.

We access activities which people express an interest in doing; this includes leisure i.e. sports, cycling, swimming, educational i.e.college courses, libraries and enable and support people with learning disabilities to be volunteers in conservation projects,catering, admin and others.

No qualifications necessary. Volunteers would need good communication skills and particularly good listening skills. A believe that people with a disability are valued and important citizens is essential, as is being friendly and approachable.

Flatt Lane Community Centre, near West Cheshire College. Trial period; out of pocket expenses paid in line with policy; volunteers can access training; support offered; training for role given.

The Volunteer will need a DBS check
