About the opportunity
Do you enjoy working with and meeting people? Are calm and organised? Have good customer service skills or would like to develop them. Do you have a friendly desire to help and would enjoy the prospect of being part of a busy team? Then this role may be for you!
Working with a team of passionate volunteers and staff on a busy retail floor, you will play an important role in delivering a great customer experience to customers that visit a local charity retail shop. This is a varied role, as no day is ever the same as the last, giving your the opportunity to develop a host of skills with the full support of the team. Working as a team you will make a valuable contribution by:
- Greet and serve customers
- complete till transactions
- Sell badges, raffle tickets
- promote add on sales
To help you hit the ground running, it would be advantageous if you have experience of operating a till or handling monies. More importantly, you simply need to possess lots of enthusiasm and motivation and have time to spare on a regular basis.
The British Heart Foundation champions heart research. It raises funds for the research through it's retails charity shops, national and local events and campaigns. The Heart Foundation shops receive donations of an assortment of goods and sell them mainly via their retail charity shops, to raise the funds for research. Everyone is dedicated to keeping hearts beating.
Volunteers would need to have a friendly Manner with the desire to help, need to be a communicator and preferably some Till Experience.
There will be a Trial period. Travel expenses paid at public transport rate for a 4 hour shift. Minimum time commitment is 2 hours, but 4 preferred. Training given specific to the role. Support from others is provided.
