A community cafe is looking for a volunteer interested in food and cooking healthy meals, cakes and soups. This volunteer role is to be the lead in the kitchen on a Tuesday to help organise and oversee the cooking on the day, the jobs in the kitchen and looking after the counter and cafe volunteers. This is a hands-on role and will include cooking, organising and being part of the team as well as overseeing the team on the day. The volunteer will need some experience of being part of and supervising a team as well as having catering skills.
Catering and Cooking skills. Good organisational skills.
Good team working skills. Supervisory skills. You will be running a small team of other volunteers and will need good people skills and communications skills as well as being able to take the initiative organising and delegating.
Relevant training and qualifications would be useful but not essential.
The role at the current time is just for a Tuesday. Volunteers need to be able to commit to 4 to 5 hours on the day. References will be required. You must be over 18 and able to plan and organise. A food hygiene certificate would be useful and relevant training for the role will be available from time to time.
