The Samaritans based in Northwich have vacancies for Support Assistants to help the charity deliver administration and office duties. These duties are incredibly important to ensure the branch can operate and be there for callers 24 hours a day. This is a broad, diverse and rewarding role which involves helping with the day to day running of the branch with: Administration duties, processing emails, photocopying, filing, general tasks
This role does require a degree of flexibility and would suit anyone who enjoys working with people, is well organised and has had some experience of working within an administartion/office environment. As you will be working as a team, a friendly manner and flexibility is favourable.
As a Support Assistant Volunteer, the Samaritans fully understands the value and benefit of training. Therefore to help you deliver your role, you'll need to attend an induction and training session to get an overview of what Samaritans is about, and then you'll receive any further training that is needed for the role. So if you would like to work with like minded people who have a passion for contributing towards a national charity and would like to meet new people and learn new skills, this role could be for you.
Volunteers need to be happy to work as part of a team, be willing to learn and have a friendly manner. Flexibility is important in this role as there are a diverse range of activities for volunteers to do. Any office skills or administration skills including activities such as photocopying, data inputting, filing, making calls, IT and other general office type activities will be useful and can be used in this role.
