Lead Volunteers co ordinate a group of Macmillan volunteers who undertake a Bereavement Buddy role, delivering practical and emotional support to people affected by cancer in the local community. Bereavement Buddies offer vital support to people and families who have lost a loved one through cancer, or other illness.
Typical activities include assisting the Direct Volunteering Service Manager to recruit and support volunteers, coordinate referrals and matching volunteers with Clients, dealing with straightforward administration and record keeping.
In return, you will gain satisfaction of helping people affected from bereavement and meet new people. You will be fully supported by a Direct Volunteering Service Manager with your day to day volunteering. In addition, you will learn new skills & MacMillan Cancer Support will train you, support you and offer to pay expenses within agreed guidelines.
