Description

We are looking to recruit volunteers to support the delivery of a new and exciting project which will be delivered in both Winsford and Chester.

The Outdoor Activities project is funded by Brightlife Cheshire and will be working closely with Cheshire and Warrington Carers Trust, and Alzheimer’s Society with the aim to reduce social isolation and loneliness for people living with dementia and their carers across Winsford and Chester.

We are looking for volunteers to both lead and support with developing and delivering outdoor based activities for people living with dementia and their carers, helping to engage people with their local surroundings in a positive and meaningful way.

The sessions will take place weekly and will last no more than 2 hours.

Understanding of how dementia affects people and the impact it can have on their carers.

Knowledge of health and safety and risk assessment

Existing knowledge of local outdoor spaces and accessibility is desirable

Role specific training and support will be provided

Volunteers will be based in Winsford and Chester - Blacon, Boughton, Handbridge, Hoole, Lache and Upton
