Are you interested in making Cheshire a safer place? If so you could help Cheshire Fire & Rescue in it's target of making Cheshire a safer place to live. Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service utilise firefighters, advocates and volunteers within their unitary areas to carry out Home Safety Assessments (HSA's), these play a pivotal role in protecting people from the risk of fire in their own homes. The aim is to have working fire alarms in every home in Cheshire and where applicable fire related advice to every householder.
Volunteers partner advocates to deliver Home Assessment Advice in peoples' homes. This helps to target a specific group to provide and fit free smoke alarms , give general fire prevention advice and national fire statistics in teams of two. You will always be volunteering along side trained Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service personnel. Willing to commit to 4 hours per month.
A confident outgoing personality and excellent communication skills are vital. Full training will be given for this role. An interest in the health and safety of others would be useful. Able to commit to 4 hours per month
You will generally be helping in the local community in the area where you live. You must be 18+, available for a DBS check. Mileage or public transport rates paid for travelling within the role. References are also required for the role. The application time may take up to 12 weeks, so please be patient.
