Volunteers are needed to increase awareness of composting at home and reducing food waste; to empower residents with practical skills and expertise; to inspire local communities to take action.

As a volunteer you can:

  • Attend events, local shows, fetes and fairs, giving individual advice
  • Deliver workshops in schools
  • Work with community groups
  • Write articles for local newsletters and magazines
  • Give talks and presentations to local groups and organisations
  • Work with the waste management departments at larger council events
  • Or anything that suits your skills!

There may well be other activities to get involved in, depending on individual skills.

No previous experience is necessary, and full training is provided in Love Food Hate Waste and Home Composting techniques.

This is a fully flexible role. Events and talks take place during the week, weekends and evenings and you can attend as little or as many of these whenever you are available. It is anticipated that this project will end in March 2018 and therefore we are asking for a short term commitment. The project may be extended from April 2018 dependent on funding.

Full training is provided for our volunteers. Volunteers can benefit from developing communication skills in a variety of settings with a wide range of people, whilst helping local people save money and helping the environment.

If you enjoy meeting people and have an interest in your local environment then this could be the volunteering opportunity for you.

Only registered members can apply for opportunities.
